How to Install the Flash 9 Plugin on Linux

1. Get Install package

Type in console:

 
wget http://www.adobe.com/go/fp9_update_b1_installer_linuxplugin
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
<strong>2. Extract</strong>

Type in console:

 
tar xf FP9_plugin_beta_101806.tar.gz
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
<strong>Only do step 3 if you have the flash 7 plugin already installed.</strong>

3. Remove Flash 7

type in console:

 
sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-nonfree

 
<strong>4. Install</strong>

Type in console:

 
cd flash-player-plugin-9.0.21.55/
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
sudo mv libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/

5. Remove Install Files

Type in console:

 
cd
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
rm -rf flash-player-plugin-9.0.21.55/ FP9_plugin_beta_101806.tar.gz

6. Restart Firefox

Note: This guide uses Ubuntu Linux 6.06 as it's platform, it may be applicable to other Linux distributions.
