Rimando ad un articolo che usero' ho usato anch'io per l'installazione di PowerTop, un programma linux che permette di trovare le applicazioni che a pc inutilizzato (idle) consumano piu' energia.

Confermo che su Feisty si puo' installare dal deb che trovate qui http://www.getdeb.net/release.php?id=1357 , ma di default non avrete il kernel 2.6.21 con il tickless idle abilitato come riportato qui:

For PowerTOP to work best, use a linux kernel with the tickless idle (NO_HZ) feature enabled (version 2.6.21 or later). Currently, only 32-bit kernels have support for tickless idle; 64-bit kernels are expected to gain this feature in version 2.6.23.
